Say No, say yes

Have you ever said no to packaging? It is easy to request no extra serviettes at the fast food place, the lid on your coffee or the extra paper bag that comes with food already in packaging.

Say yes to extra bins in your kitchen to separate the rubbish as you create it. One bin for clean paper products and glass jars take these to the recycling bin. The fogo bin and then the extras bin. This should be the one that has the least in it. Soft plastics for instance. (I hope a solution for recycling these is found soon.)

In my opinion none of these bins need a liner. Just tip into the appropriate council bins. The fogo gets rinsed after emptying each day, its a great food for plants! Or line it with the old newspapers or envelopes.
